Parental Notice of Absence Absences shall be treated as unlawful until the district receives a written excuse note sent to the office explaining the absence. Any child who is absent from school must present a written and signed parental excuse within three days of a student's absence. Unless a written excuse is presented within three (3) school days after the student returns to school, the absences will be counted as unlawful. Any note should be brought to school and given to the attendance secretary, Mrs. Alderfer, following any absence. We will also accept excuse notes via three other means, which include a faxed document, an e-mail, or a telephone call. This communication must include the date of the absence, the reason for the absence, and the parent's signature. For your convenience, please use the e-mail link below:

You can report your child’s absence 24/7 using any of the three easy options below. When you report an absence through SafeArrival, it automatically updates our attendance system—no need to call the school directly!

Call from a phone number listed on your child’s student record.
Follow the voice prompts to:

Go to: https://go.schoolmessenger.com
Steps:
Click “Sign Up” if you don’t already have an account (use your email on file with the school).
Log in and select “Report an Absence.”
Enter the required details and submit.

If an absence isn’t reported by the start of the school day, SchoolMessenger will automatically call and message parents to confirm the reason. That’s our way of making sure every student is safe and accounted for.
